Core services Capability building

Advisory

We have extensive experience advising Ministers, senior government officials and other public sector clients on high-profile matters, acting as a “critical friend” in the decision-making process, identifying the risks associated with a particular policy or decision, and finding solutions to mitigate those risks. We provide forthright advice that is practical, pragmatic and risk-based, thus allowing clients to take robust decisions that are insulated against serious challenge. We also advise on legislative proposals and how these can be implemented.

Governance

We can assist organisations improve their governance arrangements, providing support with the drafting of policies, framework agreements, and memoranda of understanding.

Risk management

We are adept at advising on risk and are able to provide tailored advice as to how risk can be mitigated, including through the development of policies, communication strategies, organisational restructuring, and capability building.

Strategic planning

We have experience in strategic planning and are therefore well-placed to assist organisations with understanding their strategic objectives and how these can be achieved and monitored on an ongoing basis.

Investigations

We can assist with investigations, whether in respect of individual HR issues or more complex investigations. We have experience of writing reports and assisting decision-makers to ensure their decisions are “litigation-proofed”.

Corporate writing

We can assist organisations with their corporate writing, including strategic plans, policy papers, reports, bid proposals, guidance, decision letters, Cabinet memos, and the production of template documents. We write in clear, concise, plain English, which is both easy-to-follow and impactful.

Capability building

We have extensive public sector training experience and offer sessions and courses that are tailored to the needs of each organisation.

Mentoring and coaching

We can provide mentoring and coaching to staff across the public sector and can also devise bespoke mentoring programmes for organisations.
